I keep trying to tell myself it’s not just that it was childhood… you look at that era, the lineup was indescribable. halo 3c Cod 4, Fallout 3, Black Ops, Halo Reach, Gears of War 1-3, Red Dead Redemption, Skyrim, Left 4 Dead 1&2, Dead Island, Far Cry 3, AC2, fucking Borderlands… we were spoiled. The Studios were hitting their stride but hadn’t forgotten what it was about yet. And we had time… endless hours with eachother late into the night talking shit, and unlocking skins, guns, perks, and finding side quests. But Halo… Halo stood at the front, steering us towards glory.

I'd say halo was for everyone.it was one of those stories where humans stood against insurmountable odds and wars and rebellions paused for humans to stand together and fight for survival. not a group or a specific race, or country just humanity vs extinction.

The Halo 3 era specifically is where you can really tell that gaming had peaked. The marketing, the cultural significance, the anticipation, the multiplayer, the birth of MLG, the late night custom games. There will never be anything like it again.
