If you have a grass lawn you CANNOT hate on data centers, lawns as a collective per city consume way more water than data centers do. There are other more valid reasons to hate them

Just mass hysteria about data centers. Ask someone why they’re against it and they’ll talk about “the sound” or “the water”, despite neither of these being actual problems. We have had data centers for decades everywhere, there is almost certainly one already near you. We just need a lot more now.

the lack of tech literacy is insane nowadays. Data centers are needed across almost everything related to technology. Tiktok, Instagram, Youtube and about every website or platform uses data centers to store data of all sorts.

Not air conditioning… the cooling IS THE WATER. Same with power plants, but that’s external and the water is reused and the ponds are safe enough to even fish out of (not that I’d eat the fish…) but people do! They test them. Daya center cooling systems utilize water that is not recycled and unfortunately evaporates so quickly… massive quantities are utilized.
