I do a minute meeting worksheet during my first classroom lesson of the year (meet the counselor). I bought them from a counselor creator (can’t remember off the top of my head). There are 3 different versions for K-2, 3-4, and 5-6. It’s easy for them and makes it more doable for me.

I do read alouds with every elementary class, a different book with every grade, and introduce my role! It’s been a good way to get into the classes quick and let students know who I am and why I am there!

Yes! I did minute meetings with those students who were on the list per behavior challenges from previous year and/or students I met with the previous year. I did an actual “Who Am I?” PowerPoint/game with my classes at the beginning of the year. It was quick and fun and I gave each student a small flyer that had all my access information on it. For my littles, we did a field trip to my office so they could see where I was located.
