Who takes the credit for this beautiful Road Construction ? JM or Addo D? The Amasaman–Nsawam road works form part of the larger Ofankor–Nsawam section of the Accra–Kumasi Highway (N6). The project covers about 33.4 km and is designed to significantly improve traffic flow, road safety and connectivity between Accra and the northern parts of Ghana. Key points * Scope: The road is being upgraded/dualised into a much wider corridor, including a 6-lane expressway and 4-lane service road. * Major interchanges: Interchanges/flyovers are being constructed around Amasaman, Pobiman, Medie and Nsawam Junction. * Purpose: The project is intended to reduce the severe congestion experienced along the Pokuase–Amasaman–Nsawam corridor, improve travel times and enhance the movement of goods between Accra, Kumasi and landlocked countries such as Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger. * Construction: Work began in July 2022, with an original completion target of July 2024, but delays occurred because of funding, compensation issues, utility relocation and litigation. * Latest timeline: In September 2025, the government said outstanding arrears to contractor Maripoma Enterprise Limited had been cleared and secured a commitment for completion by June 2026. * Current situation: Reports from July 2026 indicate that, despite substantial progress, compensation issues remain a major concern, particularly for affected property owners and businesses along the corridor. #GhanaNewsTV
