Its just easier to optimize for iphones because there are much fewer iphones models vs android. Samsung alone releases probably over 20 android phones per year vs 1 per year from apple. Keeping up with all the camera sensors, screen sizes, colors processing is virtually impossible so we are stuck with a subpar experience. I believe Smasung has partnered with apps like Instagram and snapchat on several occasions to optimize for their flagship S series phones

Androids like samsung actually improve and not add 40 cameras 😭. no shade but I feel bad for apple users its just made for u to last until u buy the next phone. the battery life is ass my moms phone has to recharge after an hour or 2💔

They weren’t optimized for iPhone the app stores and operating system are completely different. The issue lies in the stratification of android and the dozens of different android phones and camera API’s vs just one unified way of accessing the camera on iOS. It’s nearly impossible for every android app dev to code their app to be universal without simply screenshotting the camera feed. Some OEMs make it a lil easier, which is why Samsung or Pixel phones tend to have a better experience when you compare their flagship devices vs iPhones. Swift lets developers just plug and play when it comes to accessing high quality camera feeds in the way android doesnt.

This is partially true, basically because the Android system is larger than Apple’s iOS. System apps have to cater to all Androids, not just one versus iPhone. You only have to cater to one specific phone brand.
