From a senior data engineer. My advice is stop trying to learn it all. Don’t learn data bricks, snowflake, redshift, etc… just pick one and focus on that. 90% of what you learn will transfer to any database brand. Pick a specific tech stack and focus on that. Learn SQL, Python, and Snowflake and that’s like 70% of what you need. Once you have that down look into DBT and an orchestrator. Airflow is the most common.

I would do AWS solution architect before you do AWS data engineer. That said, tbh SA is not an easy cert if you don’t have a background in software engineering or on-premise equivalents like docker/kubernetes/identity mgmt/etc..

Hey man, I am a staff ai engineer and I used to be a data engineer. I’ve been working with databases pretty much my entire life. Try some LinkedIn learning courses they are short so they don’t become too overwhelming and they give you basic information and enough information to branch off into specific topics. Stop watching videos and build something for fun using industry standard tooling. Like find a list of all OP chapters, scrape a forum and figure out how to get comments off the form related to a chapter. You’ll have real skills at the end of it, I honestly never look at certs on resumes, but I will read your GitHub.
