As much as I love this take, “buck breaking” isn’t a historically factual thing, it’s fabricated. SA was extremely prevalent in slave societies and plantations across the Americas for women, men and children but this buck breaking narrative has been a significant justification used for the violent homophobia that exists in countries such as Jamaica. There’s no primary sources, no verifiable historical scholarship supporting it and it does significantly more harm than it does good.

this is really interesting and i feel so bad for male victims and all sa victims :( i feel so bad for the characters. media like this is important though because these feelings are struggles for so many people. it wont make sense for some people but for people like me and other victims i do think we feel understood
