There’s like an underlying assumption that we’re not defending the idea/thought we just presented, we’re discussing it to grow and learn and see another POV.

It would be challenging in a good way, not in competition. Not in a threatening way. Everyone is secure. A room of no insecurities is a magical place.

My husband and my kids are all gifted as are all the aunts, uncles, and cousins on my husband’s side. My daughter’s husband is not and neither is his family and the poor guy was baffled at the conversation and banter that consistently happens in family. We all assumed it was normal. 🤣

I’ve always felt like I was missing something spending time with people who can’t have this type of conversation, and until I found friends who met me where I was I thought something was wrong with me

Purpose - Context - Perception - Run. back story, history bla bla irrelevant (unless its the topic). Contribution of perspectives is where the fun is at.

Gifted person here…what you’re describing might be wealthy autistics. Poor gifted’s do, wealthy autistics talk.

Personally I believe every single gifted person is autistic but not every autistic person is gifted. Most gifted people have special interests that they independently dedicate their lives to.

I think “gifted” can be translated to neurodivergent. At least for me! I was labeled a “gifted” child but now I realize I am what they label “adhd” and “autistic”- maybe that will clarify for others who are asking what gifted means.

I’m 53 and autistic, these are the only kinds of conversations I partake in anymore. Be authentic or get out, I don’t have time for small talk.

my mother did a master's thesis on how gifted programs are school accommodation for potentially disruptive neurodivergent kids who are otherwise high performers. And the kids in the programs were overwhelmingly this. So yes, sure, but we can just call them neurodivergent in 2026
