Crocs became popular BECAUSE of Idiocracy. Mike Judge needed a mass produce cheap looking shoe and thought Crocs looked silly so the movie ordered a ton. The huge influx of cash into the company allowed them to expand and become what they are today.

my husband said to me "omg you've never watched Idocracy?!" so we sat down and watched it. At the end I was like "ok I get it. def matches up to today. Not as great as you said it was." he goes "yeah it was funny back then too close now." 🤣🤣 Now THAT made me laugh.
