Grew up on all the same stuff. I also thought a lot of foreign countries (especially in and around the middle east) were just violent people, meanwhile it was the US that started and promoted the wars that tore their countries apart.

My mom still believes women shouldn’t have leadership roles, that’s why she didn’t vote in 2024. The irony is lost in that she’s an elected official and only has her job because people voted her into a leadership role for her country. But I remember people being up in arms over the female Methodist pastor when I was growing up. I did grow up small town TX though.
