@thelighthousesocialclub: Parents of toddlers… I need your best ideas 😂 It’s been raining nonstop, we’re stuck inside, and the same toys are getting OLD fast. What are your creative, cheap (or free) ways to keep a 2-year-old entertained at home? I’m talking weird little activities, random household stuff, games you made up — anything that actually keeps them busy. 😂 Drop your best one below because I KNOW other parents need these ideas too 👇 #ToddlerActivityIdeas #RainyDayToddler #ToddlerParents #AtHomeWithToddlers #ParentHackExchange

I heard from Jack Black..... don't buy your kid more happiness... if they are having fun doing something like playing with a box. then get down onthe floor and play with that box... no need to fill a happiness void that doesnt exsist....

Lowes and Home Depot have loads of hardware displays they can fiddle with. Gardening is great - pots, dirt, seeds. Playing in the rain -splash, inner tube down the street, mudpies, catching raindrops in a cup. Pool noodle sword fights Let them colour/draw on the box or make a garage for toy cars, house for stuffies, etc. Build a blanket fort

💙You need to stay near, but kitchen sink play, bubbles, plastic cups to pour, ladles … an apron can help. Easy, simple play in a space they don’t usually get to be in.

Look up sensory bins online. You can make several small ones and bring only one or two out at a time. They keep my toddler class busy all the time.

Put a blanket over a table and build a fort. Throw on a raincoat & boots and take a walk, jump in a mud puddle. Bake some cookies. Put a piece of paper & a few dabs of paint in a gallon zip lock for finger painting. No mess. Read a book, dance to music. Go on a hike. Do an outside treasure hunt.

2yr olds was my jam!! So much fun to be silly. I would use painters tape to make racetrack on kitchen tile and go to town with hot wheels. We also would open garage, pop up table and paint art or rocks to leave out in neighborhood or our flower garden. Pillow forts is the best to have great conversations.
