When I was a 10 I needed an expensive life saving surgery. My mom was a single mom was a widow with 2 kids. Children’s Miracle Network helped my mother pay for it, we donate to them whenever we can so they can help more kids like they helped me.

My nephew was diagnosed with a brain tumor at the age of 2 and died shortly before his 4th birthday. That was over 30 years ago. Every child deserves to grow up. Thank you for using your platform

Kids get cancer too! My daughter was 14 when we found out she had leukemia. It took 7 months to get her diagnosed. Thankfully she is 7 years out.

One of my best friends had leukemia and ended up passing away while we were in college. He held a drive for Be The Match and my whole town came out. I’ll be forty soon and I think about him all the time. And I’m thankful for what I learned from him.

The kind of leukemia I have is mostly found in older men, so I have been told that it’s the “good cancer” to get, because that’s where the funding is. It shouldn’t be that way. Fund childhood cancer research!

A good friend lost their daughter, Maddie to leukemia. At 18 my daughter registered for Be The Match. Tomorrow I’m going to a bakery fundraiser for another young student with cancer. Childhood cancer effects us all.

A friend’s son (who is now 16yr old) was diagnosed with brain cancer at 16 months. It was absolute hell for the entire family. As her community, we learned so much…how little funding they get, comparatively, how they just get smaller doses of adult meds & what that does to tiny developing bodies… we learned so much & got far more involved. Thank you for speaking to this & using your platform! ❤️

I used to do the gift walk on the cancer wing of the children’s hospital. They stopped it in 2020, understandable but i miss it. I still take the donations and i still make sure the coffee cart is fully stocked and the sweet treats are also fully stocked the week leading up to the winter holidays. I didn’t have cancer but i was kid stuck in the hospital away from family and some kind volunteer read me a story and gave me a rabbit puppet. I still have it. Maybe i need to ask the front desk again, i would really like to be an in person volunteer again

Paige, l could tell this was straight from your heart. Be loud, you lived this. Our 23 yr old grandson was diagnosed with an aggressive form of leukemia on Aug. 23rd. The day he was diagnosed he was rushed to a larger city hospital and started chemo. He is going through Hell right now. His doctor told him that he might feel like he is dying, but he won’t. It can happen to anyone. Even a strong, healthy and happy young man just starting his life. Cancer is evil.
