Stop it, I bought my Stang for 5k 10 years ago, been paid off for most of that. Bundle insurance with my daily and my fiances, comes to 180 a month for all 3 full coverage, Allstate. I drive it maybe once a week on average, and sits during bad weather. It's been an absolute reliable car, no car is gonna need 0 maintenance but for as much as I drive it and the condition I have it, its peak. Stop talking yourself out of it. When you die you'll leave it behind to someone, they'll FEEL you in that car bro. 1 years time or so to have a Sunday driver, just waiting for your adventures. Get it, now.

Tell you one thing, the benefit to your life thing… Not much matches the excitement of when I load up my wife and kiddo into one of our weekend cars, and going out to ice cream or a cars and coffee, or even just taking her to work once in a while. If it makes or breaks you I’ll never advocate for putting yourself in a bind, but if you can create memories and experiences with it, there’s some pretty hefty value in it outside of the dollars.

I bought a mustang I couldn't afford during my midlife crisis to drive it once a week. 2 years later, it's still one of the things I'm most proud of and appreciate. not saying you should buy it. just know it does have some benefits to the ole noggin ✌️

Buy it. I have 2014 and a 2001 both are my get away. Drive them twice a month and it’s the best feeling ever. Still racing my kids. All them big boy bills but I’m free once I’m in the freeway listening to the exhaust.

Im 52. I bought a gt350 at 49. like you I had a hard time justifying it. I raised my kids, financially stable. I finally did something for ME! You dont want to daily the car anyway, my wife and I love going to cars and coffee, monthly car cruises and the occasional car show. We take it to dinner on weekends, we love enjoying the car together. $200/month for 2 years and at our age, insurance is Cheap!

Sell the truck and get a nicer mustang for your daily. I tow stuff with it, put snow tires on it in the winter, and it has back seats if you really needed. The $5k you won’t miss when you’re too old to drive but you will look back to now and think about what memories you could’ve made with the mustang
