110°C (230°F) is actually a normal temperature for a traditional dry sauna. The issue was the fact that they poured water every 30 seconds. High humidity + 110°C literally boils the skin. Also one of the participants used painkillers, so his body didn't feel it was burning until it was too late.

this happens all the time in slaughterhouses. They won't slow down the lines because profits matter most. So when the stunning fails, animals end up being boiled alive, fully conscious. And it happens a lot. Like, every hour of every day.
