My parents have a whirlpool trash masher still but a slightly more modern version (stainless steel) they say it is totally worth it to pay for the bags because they only have to take the trash out once a week (my mom runs a business out of the house so there is a lot of foot traffic aka a lot of trash). I wish I had theirs now 😂 so so convenient

From my understanding there were issues with garbage men being able to lift a full garbage can of compacted trash. Something about it not being good for garbage mens backs lifting and throwing 250lbs.
