Check out the massive impact Canadians are having on USA tourism by switching where our vacation dollars are spent - this change has been done 1 family at a time (& it adds up)

I refuse to ever give another single dollar to Amazon, Walmart, Target, Hobby Lobby, Chick-fil-A, Zara, Home Depot, Starbucks, or Nestle… and haven’t for years.

I started using the DisOccupied App last week. You can look up brands and see if they link to Israel. It can take some time to do the research though. It’s been eye opening. I feel better knowing I’m actively trying to contribute less to the dark side when there are more ethical options available.

This is what my dad thinks when I told him I wasn’t watching or interacting with anything Harry Potter he tried to tell me it didn’t matter cause one persons views won’t affect a multi millionaire but I watched the Lorax as a kid and if I learned anything it’s that “unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothings going to get better. It’s not”

I am unfortunately trapped. I live on a fixed income, and the only way I afford some of the things I need, is from Amazon... and I hate it.

Whenever we discuss time travel, people always express fear of irreparably altering the present by making some minor change in the past. Nobody ever wants to stop & consider that they can change the future by making minor changes today.

Unfortunately I am trapped, and Walmart/Sam’s is about the only affordable grocery I have access to. I buy what I need and nothing else. It’s tough to avoid all of the evil because in some areas their monopolistic goals are working.

"No snowflake in an avalanche ever feels responsible." - some dude who's name I can't remember.
And that's as much a self criticism as it is a criticism of anyone else because I still haven't kicked Amazon.

I also think it’s highly underrated to just *limit* what you get from certain companies, and intentionally support others instead, instead of focusing on 100% boycotting. There’s not many places I avoid entirely, but like I get most of my groceries+gas from Costco, winco (just started going there!), or local places. Originally by trying to boycott Target, I just ended up going to Walmart more, which isn’t actually better IMO. I buy from Amazon ocassionally, but I cut back a TON, and finally got rid of my membership a few months ago. How we spend our money matters, but I think online in this day and age a lot of boycotts just end up being virtue signaling and policing each other

I think "because I can choose to do something different" is important here. Those companies are pushing very hard to give us no other options. A lot of people lack other options if they want to keep eating with a roof over their heads, and that's intentional by these corporations.

Anyone wanting to eliminate supporting streaming companies and is happy with physical media(or have a stock pile): I highly recommend a data server paired with an app/service like Plex. This is great for millennials, Gen X, or just old-school who still have all our DVDs & bluray. You keep the storage on your hard drive, Plex is just the app to allow you to stream. You can also allow people in other places access. I live in Atlanta, and my sister-in-law in Anchorage can still show my niblings all the Daniel Tiger movies we have.

THIS is killing me with AI...we are all collectively fighting data centers, why are you using something you don't need???? like Walleyworld is so many people's only option, if we could go back to 1990 & NOT support them!!!!!!😳😏🥰

SCOTUS declared that 💰= speech in Citizens United so yeah, clearly that is where the ultimate power lies. When you transfer your 💰to a person/company through a purchase you have effectively told them you agree with whatever will politically sustain their future.

I just has this conversation with my daughter yesterday about me not going to Chick-fil-A, hobby lobby or home depot amongst other places. I said due to political reasons and she said no mom its for moral reasons that you dont go there. She said its because I believe in human rights for everyone and moral convictions.
