I’m hard-pressed to find something else that has as high of a floor as the Odyssey. It’s gonna get an absolutely massive number of nominations. Only thing I can see the railing. It is if we try to get a little too contrarian.

Whilst i think Odyssey is phenomenal filmmaking im not sure it will win. it will definitley be nominated but wont win. I think if Dune 3 is brilliant then that potentially may nudge it but scifi rarely gets a look in

Dune 2 won fuck all the question is was that because they were waiting for Dune 3 or will it just be because it’s sci fi as always. And no they were the only reasons dune 2 was possibly snubbed.

Oscar voters are going to LOVE how much the Odyssey is a traditional Epic that pays tribute to the legacy of cinema. Harryhausen, Kurosawa etc
