If you take out all the internet chatter and just focus on the witness and expert testimony, this isn't an easy decision. There are too many inconsistencies, too many diagnoses, and the timeline doesn't make sense. If I were a juror I would have a lot of questions about the night this happened. Number 1 being how was her core body temp at 82°? That's what I'm hung up on.

I still am of the opinion that she’s not guilty. Not “not guilty by reason of mental disease” but plain old not guilty. There is more than enough reasonable doubt in the lack of evidence & my heart genuinely breaks for her.

what happens when an "expert" is fired after their testimony? could you imagine if one of the Jurors is arguing Dr. Mack's findings or his opinions, not knowing he was fired and possibly not even licensed correctly? unbelievable!

I just don’t understand how she was meant to physically have done it in the time frame with 1800mg of seroquel in her system and being hypothermic at the same time let alone in the time frame that she was seen on the ground and callen able to regain a heartbeat. Just these facts alone and not everything else there is too means she couldn’t have physically have done it.

I truly believe the hold out is an elder who is devoutly religious- thinking of that demographic in MA To them, there is zero wiggle room when it comes to certain topics, their religion is their community (if they vote not guilty there could be fear of rejection/ judgement from peers, they are closer to death (not in a funny way) so going to final judgement from God is top of mind. Mental health isn’t considered & it’s default to believe a mans word over a sick woman.

Mine isn’t about the experts necessarily, but the half hour timeline Patrick was gone. She has plenty of alone time with the kids in the months and weeks leading up to. I don’t believe she “plotted” for him to leave, if she did why didn’t she send him out further? Why google the route and confirm the medication for him? She told people she was scared they could read her thoughts. There’s just too much in her favour

Mental health is so divided especially with older people. Back when they parented there was no talk of mental health or postpartum depression so it may be harder for the older jurors to fully understand and get past their own opinions.

I don’t like the idea of compromising. It shouldn’t be something to compromise on. Either the state met its burden or it didn’t. Compromising to me means settling and giving in and I don’t think that is justice.

All of the defence “experts” said shit that sounded very bias and information they had was based from what Patrick said, they also got paid, they even agreed with some of the defence experts, and some of them weren’t even qualified well enough to be even discussing what they were talking about. Sounds like a couple of the jury members maybe so pigheaded and can’t accept they may be wrong because there is so much reasonable doubt

Prosecution had to prove their case without reasonable doubt. How could any juror not have a doubt??? there has been EXTREMELY reasonable doubt since week 1 of trial when we found out her body was 82° !!!!!

I don’t understand why this is hard, the prosecution’s own “experts” couldn’t agree, how is this not reasonable doubt? The jury isn’t supposed to determine or interpret the law, they’re supposed to decide if the prosecution nailed it or not.

The fact that the experts themselves couldn’t agree on her diagnosis during the trial proves, beyond any doubt, that it was a true reflection of the reality and hell she was living through. I can’t even imagine how many women are going through, or will go through, what she went through
