I've tried the Michel Thomas method, and didn't really like it. it was a language Thomas is not fluent in, yet it was being taught by him, in an accent strong enough that even I could hear it

I speak several languages and I tried Michel Thomas products once or twice and it was really very good. Sadly, they did have Thai or Japanese. I'm way past that now as I live in Thailand but I still need Japanese!

actually psychology doesn't support this children learn languages faster because the sort of their brain responsible for language hasn't full developed yet and they are enotnshy to make mistakes they have a lower affective filter than adults, adults are more aware and feel embarrassed when they get things wrong when leaning language or any new thing

I tried his method to learn French but Michels accent was so thick, it was hard to follow. I ended up doing the Lingoda sprint for 2 months and learnt a lot

The problem with languages in my old age is that every word I can learn for 3 months but I will forget it within 6. After 10 years of learning Japanese and re-learning common words several times I am fairly sure that’s it.
