I have a solar system for my refrigerator and climate control with battery backup gas cooking equipment and a gas generator big enough to run the entire house ive also converted a full size bus to full function rv with the same backup systems in place so im also mobile

I live outside of Nashville Tennessee, we lost power for a week when the temperatures dropped into the teens during the day (that’s NOT normal for us) we have two generators, one for heat or A/C the other will power a fridge and all the other things that we need.

Have water on hand always. Significant for each person up to two weeks at least minimum. Secondly, can your food and eat food that you’ve prepared that’s shelf stable and that’s homemade grillfoods that you actuall eat. Purchase propane grill. Or rocket stove. I personally also keep charcoal and a grill ready. On top of prepping for bathroom facility, you’ll have to do the research on your own because there’s so many different ways to do it. That’s a start. You can also keep MRE meals on hand to make it easier to start with. Research research research.

emergency preparedness depends on your area but honestly a generac automatic generator with a 500 gallon propane tank to run it off of or natural gas would be the most hands-free way of keeping power in your home uninterrupted...

Start with a generator. Freeze dried food. Emergency water supply to start. Do some rabbit hole digging on here, YouTube or FB. There is a ton of info out there.

generac or similar generator connected to natural gas or a dedicated propane tank. if you can afford it a small diesel generator connected to your house electrical panel with a transfer switch. keep stores of dry staple foods. rice ,beans freeze dried foods etc

“State of Emergency” has more to do with where the funds come from than the level of emergency. That said, I live in a rural area and keep extra water, shelf stable food, propane, camp stove and emergency heater. Also, ammunition.
