I disagree with you calling him raw and only winning because of his athleticism. He has great technique and has since college. In the clip you showed against cleveland he’s able to recover because of his leverage and active hands which speaks to his technique. There are defensive lineman who are big enough physical freaks to win with bad leverage or slow get offs but that’s not how van den berg wins. He has a great get off, good leverage in the run/pass game, has active hands. He started 54 games in college and i think you can tell he’s experienced based off his last year of film at gt. Even in the clip against the bengals i think the shoulder turn that you point out and the leverage he’s playing with is an example of good technique.

I respectfully kinda disagree. Yes he relies on his athleticism and raw ability but that’s doesn’t necessarily mean he doesn’t know what he’s doing . That long arm was refined and he’s been working on that one. He may rely on his athletic ability more than he should but let’s not pretend he doesn’t have some ability beyond that
