@whitneylynallen: Here 👇🏻 (1) The night that Ryan died I felt the need to start sleeping on what had been "his side" of our bed. His absence felt so enormous and palpable after his death-the space he should have been felt so heavy next to me. Taking up the space that he once did was less painful for me. Ever since that night, I've been sleeping on what had been "Ryan's side." (2) It took well over a year after Ryan died to dream about him. I've only had two dreams about him since October 14, 2021 (the day of his accident). Once was when he was in the hospital and the other was this year. In the dream, I saw him through the window of our old home. He was in his police uniform and he smiled up at me but I couldn't get to him. So reflective of real life 🥹💔 (3) My primary love languages changed. When Ryan was healthy and alive my primary love language was acts of service. Ryan's had always been physical touch and quality time. After Ryan died, my primary love languages are physical touch and words of affirmation. Most likely because I missed those so much when Ryan was sick. (4) In our old house, I would hear Ryan's foot steps in his work boots at night like he was coming up the stairs. The sound of those boots on our steps were so unique, almost unmistakable. I like to think that was him reminding me that he is always around protecting us. it's been 16 months since my wife passed, & like you I have to sleep on her side of the bed. unfortunately I still haven't dreamt of Hayley no matter how much I want to. I talk to her daily, I kiss her picture when I wake & when I go to bed, we had been together 43 years when she passed & about 5 months ago I smelt her perfume (it's an unmissable scent, that I always loved on her), so I know she's always around me....

My late husband and I lived in a very gently haunted house. small things here and there, nothing scary. We were always together when these things happened so we were sure it wasn't us and we weren't imagining things. He passed away in the house. I could feel him there. I either hallucinated his shade or really saw it- once only. 3 days after he passed I caught a strong smell of his pipe tobacco and I KNEW. It was his goodbye. I blessed him and told him to move on to better things. He departed and took whatever spirit(s) were in the house with him. It is something he would do. Not a peep since. I've been a widow 21 years now.

In what was the family home, my younger son (20) and myself would hear the door handle go up on the front door, the cupboards close in the kitchen. We would look at one another and my son would say, say nothing… early on I walked into the bedroom, lamp on and noticed a lump his side of the bed. I asked who’s that to hear him respond who the bloody hell do you think it is?!! I put my hand onto the lump for it to disappear. When holding his hand the best I could before his life support was switched off I could feel his hand squeezing mine like he always did but when I looked there was nothing… x

Regarding my sister not husband, the night she died I had the most vivid dream she came to me to say goodbye, she died young because she had to do something. I dreamt of her once or twice after that but it felt fake and I hated it. That was 15 years ago. I recently had another dream, so vivid, so real, she told me she finished her task and wanted to be near me.

My husband died in a car accident. He died nearly instantly. I have a recurring dream about him that is a total nightmare. It changes slightly but it’s always basically the same. I’ve never had a good dream about him. This is so disturbing to me I’ve never told anyone except my therapist. She said it is a ptsd symptom. It’s been 8 years and it hasn’t gone away. I don’t dream it a lot maybe every few months but I hate it.

-when I went to his sister's place as funeral was out of town the night before it felt like someone lied beside me
- he hated it when I swore so I swear like a sailor now not cool but trying to slow that down
-I have been in fight or flight for 7 yrs
-everyone abandoned me cause covid hit 5 months after and I had to navigate this alone.
-somedays it still feels like it jusy happened

My sweetheart (and Father of my daughter) died in October 2008. To this day, he still shows up in my dreams at least a couple times a month. 😳

We randomly smell Tom’s deodorant in the house. It’s never used, in a drawer upstairs. We know it’s him. 💙

I was 25 and living at home when my mom passed away. Shortly after she passed, I would sometimes be startled awake because I "heard" her calling my name from the bottom of the stairs, only to be hit with the realization that she was gone. It was gut wrenching.

After my 17 y/o son died, he came to me in a dream so I could tell him I loved him and hug him one more time. I asked what he was doing with his After Life and he laughed and said he was in school (which he didn’t like, IRL). I asked what for and he told me he couldn’t tell me. My grandson was born two years later, has his middle name and has so many of the same unique expressions. Yes, I believe in reincarnation.

When my husband died, within the first week and a half I had to completely redo my bedroom. No matter where I slept on the bed, his absence was suffocating. I bought new girly sheets. He would’ve hated, a brand new comforter, I just couldn’t deal with the same old bed without him in it. I needed it to look like a new bed, in a new spot in the bedroom. It did help a bit.
