I don’t understand that she factually saw and felt so many red flags and chose to carry on with the going to Olympics. Was it to not regret. Or the notoriety. She sure got noticed.

This argument doesn’t make any sense. It’s fine you pointed out it wasn’t just cancelled because of her. However, this definitely will affect whether it’s picked up again and that can partially be attributed to her awful performance/negative feedback. Why would they ever approve it in the future if this is the last thing people will remember. Not to mention this sport is trying to make a name for itself and the first impression is super important. Cause these sports rely on word of mouth and need to grow to remain relevant. This is similar to the growing pains snowboarding dealt with. So yeah she’s to blame but obviously doesn’t deserve death threats.

Yes what you said is factually correct. However if break dancing would have been a money maker the IOC would have absolutely had it in permanently or at least in the next Olympics. As it is thanks to her you will never see it again.

I’m sure there are BETTER breakdancers than her, but with a population that small there is no way there are pro breakdancers (sponsored females full time). Australia has the same population as Texas/florida. So most probably didn’t have the money to compete towards the Olympics; giving up a full time career/job + spending like what 10-20k just to compete at the top Olympics? Assuming you do win the events needed to qualify… I’m not defending her, it’s not as easy as “be the best in your country and you will go to the Olympics”, money is a huge deal for most adults. This is also why usually rich kids who have the money for flights + competition + outfits/gear+ coaching tend go to the Olympics over talented but poor kids.

I was fully aware that breaking was a 2024 olympics thing, but I had hoped it would come again due to popularity for Australia, but Australia will probably be the last country to want breaking in the Olympics again 😂 well maybe they would have considered bringing it back just to redeem themselves
