I read a quote. “Buy the small house and live large.” I’ll never again buy a house that has 2 living spaces, 3 bathrooms a dining room. Nope. I hope my children never strive for the fancy house.

Our new build was the worst decision we’ve ever made. Hindsight, I wish we wouldn’t have stayed 3 years. It destroyed our finances and mental health 😅

I think you got lucky with only 35k hehe 😅 we bought ours, house poor, no one and i mean no one wanted to buy it for 2+yrs. We had Zero offers for 2yrs. Not even 1 lowball... zerooo. Too many new builds around us in florida, too many options.

We also sold our house within the first year of owning! We sunk so much money into improving it thinking we’d be there a while but the nearly $6k/month mortgage was crushing us. Had to pay $30k just to close. We haven’t looked back!!!

We are likely going to be selling after this first year and going back to our starter home! We still own it and have tenants in it who started a 1 year lease the same month we closed on our house. We put 20% down on our new house so we are hoping to come out not too bad off but we will see. We want our 2.6% and financial freedom back even though we will be packed in like sardines 😅
