are teachers responsible for all the cleaning? this is is probably a weird question but I'm interested in how other places handle this. Over 20 years, I worked at 3 different centers and all of them had us do routine cleaning and pick up during the day, but one had a janitorial staff come in and do heavier cleaning, and extra end of the day cleaning. One had in service days where we did the heavier cleaning. the last one had no janitorial staff, we were expected to do all the cleaning on top of lesson planning, one teacher to a classroom, they provided no in service days and we frequently stayed up to an hour after closing. one of the things that led me to leaving was when she paid myself and another coworker to come after hours and check the rooms for compliance like toys, labels, etc, but it quickly became "can you mop the hall? while you're there do the staff bathroom?" and then coworkers started leaving their rooms a mess and we would have to clean it, we became the janitorial staff but the pay didn't increase. Just a modge podge type of mess kind of center pretty much 😆😆😆
