No, disciplining your kids physically and abuse ARE the same thing. Hitting your kids when they do something wrong teaches them to fear you, they should love and respect you not fear you. Literally ANYTHING can be a punishment for kids. My parents would take away all my electronics when I did something bad. They would have me sit in timeout for a bit and then I learned my lesson. They had me TALK TO THEM when I did something bad to have me understand that what I did was bad. Never once did my parents hit me. Talking to your kids instead of hitting them teaches them empathy. Hitting them teaches them violence

Spanking is no different from physical abuse, the kids scream, they hurt, and they get scared and sometimes trauma. If your a parent and spank your kid (like i was) it can ruin your bond with your kid. Stop taking your anger out on your child and just talk it out and be patient

So... My parents beat me and now I am a Masochist because of that. I flinch when tickled, I flinch when a hand is raised to many times around me. I respond to almost every single thing with panic when I'm not told what I did wrong, if I'm ignored I panic. Literally all of this any many more symptoms of this could have been avoided if I wasn't hit as a child. People who are saying hitting kids is discipline... Is it really worth risking your child or any child growing up fearing basic things?...
