@peacefulmonk2026: Why do lamas always go to place where there is money? Djongsar khentse renpoche 🙏 From a Buddhist perspective, there can be several reasons: * Dharma needs support. Monasteries, food, education, travel, texts, and charitable activities all require resources. * Where there are more people, there may be more opportunities to teach. Wealthy places often have larger communities that can support Dharma activities. * Some invitations come from sponsors or communities who want teachings, pujas, or blessings. * But motivation matters. If someone teaches Dharma mainly for personal wealth, fame, or status, that is different from using resources to benefit beings and preserve the teachings. * The real measure is not where a lama goes, but what they do with the support they receive. Are they cultivating compassion, wisdom, humility, and benefiting others? A true Dharma teacher should not be measured by how much wealth surrounds them, but by how much compassion, wisdom, and benefit they bring to others.” 🙏🪷 # #Buddhism #Dharma #BuddhistWisdom #DharmaTeacher Lama Compassion Wisdom Mindfulness InnerPeace BuddhistPhilosophy PureMotivation DharmaLife SpiritualWisdom Karma Awareness NamoBuddhaya PeacefulMind PositiveMessage BuddhistTeachings DharmaPractice 🪷🙏

Yes, monks need money. Why? Because monks are human beings too. They must survive; they are not some special creatures of this Earth. Like the rest of us, they need to live, eat, and wear clothes. They are ordinary people just like us.
It is true that their spiritual practices make them different from us in terms of awareness, but they are not fundamentally different in their biological and physical reality. Therefore, they need money, and there is no need to be surprised by this fact. Their requirements might be slightly different from those of ordinary people living in the material world, but they cannot be kept exempt from the fundamental rules of existence. Everything in the modern world is transacted through money. Hence, for their livelihood and to fulfill their basic minimum needs, they require money. There is no need to find this astonishing.
Key Points for Clarification:
Biological and Physical Reality: Monks or spiritual practitioners are not supernatural beings dropped from the sky. Their bodies depend on the same physical resources like air, water, food, and shelter. Adopting a spiritual path does not automatically eliminate biological necessities.
Difference in Practice, Not in the Laws of Nature: Through years of meditation, discipline, and study, monks elevate their consciousness and mindset above the ordinary level. However, spiritual practice does not liberate a person from the physical laws of nature. Just as a wise person still needs to eat when hungry, they also need economic resources to sustain their lives.
Modern Society and the Medium of Exchange: In today's complex economy, everything is acquired through money. To maintain monasteries, arrange necessary materials, cover healthcare expenses, and manage daily living, monks also require financial resources. Surviving in today’s world without monetary means is virtually impossible.

Money, money, money. There's great hypocrisy in peddling religions and "ways of life". Lots of stupidity in blind followers to be manipulated for greed.

Buddhism is dynamic. ..... Majority of the monks needs to change their mindset. So, accept the weakness and find a solution why Buddhism is declining year to year basis? .....😁

Im 34 now. But when I was in last teen and in early 20’s many religions and cults evolved to compete with multinational corporations. They become like business and spiritual leaders or priests act like CEOs. All became business and they focus on capital formation. Then they were exposed day after day; their scandals. Iskcon, Saibaba magic foundation, osho elite brothel, Lama-Rinpocheyluxury life and free tibet mission and so on .

Mainly in the West... Just to wealthy college towns and wealthy areas in cities. But also, most of the Westerners interested in Buddhism are either wealthy or upper middle class. Not like there's a huge demand for lamas and teachers in poorer areas. I am Puerto Rican and working class... also from a very rural area. Nobody knows about Buddhism there. Thankfully I moved away.
