I’m not Atheist. I’m Wiccan. But I joined the Satanic Temple because my OBGYN in my small town wouldn’t give me birth control that I desperately needed to stop my period that had been ongoing for a year and a half straight, all because I was “of child bearing age” and would only give me birth control if it was a religious exemption. So I got a note from the Satanic Temple saying birth control was my religious right. My doctor begrudgingly gave me birth control and I didn’t bleed to death. Even though I am Wiccan, there is no official church of Wicca. My doctor would only give me the birth control if I was apart of a “legitimate church”. The Satanic Temple gives me legal protection since it is a legitimized church.
