@itskenzicollins: Replying to @Rebecca Monteforte So what would you do? Professionals, please weigh in 😅 #hairextensions #hairtransformation #geniusweft #jzstyles #hairmakeover
I think people have an expectation extension are low maintenance because it’s long hair. But they are maintenance and take work daily. I have pretty long and curly hair. But when I have extensions my hair routine is completely different, and I had to adjust to that. All that said, I would say learn a new hair routine- you wash and style one every 7-10 days , do a little refresh about halfway through (recurl etc) and the other days the curls do what they do as you maintain them the best you can daily.

I do fear extensions come with the expectation of styling them. Styling them is part of making it look blended with your natural hair. They are definitely not a “low maintenance” thing ever. You could consider k-tip extensions but prepare yourself for higher costs & more maintenances.

Ok so this will be a long one and I’m going to do a lot of assumptions so correct me if I’m wrong. The first install/cut looks way better than the second that you are calling blended. to me it’s choppy and uneven and you lost most of the money you put into haveing 18in extensions because now you basically just have longer short hair. Extensions never have been and never will be wake up and go. I’m assuming all this off of one photo and a video so I’m only going off of what I can see with my eyes from this video which could be very wrong. But it seems as if you have texture to your hair and have a little bit of wave and you cannot guarantee that the hair extensions you purchase are going to match your natural wave pattern of your hair so if you expect to wake up every morning after you wash your hair and let it air dry and have hair that just perfectly blend. That’s never gonna happen. I’m gonna assume that in the first photo you kind of let your hair air dry. I think you should wash it and blow dry it out with a brush smooth everything out number one because you really don’t need to go to bed with wet hair extensions, and number two that’s gonna make it easier for you in the morning to wake up with ready to go hair. I have no idea if this will make any sense or if I even have the facts remotely right, but I’m just trying to help. ❤️

So you need more hair to blend it out and if the new stylist is saying you need completely new hair… she is doing too much. I’m an extension stylist, and I would use what you have and just add another pack of hair either in one row or two mini rows, not sure where your placement is right now. If you’re not committed to styling with a bob, then you need a lot of hair to compensate that.

I'm a diy extension gal myself because it's SO EXPENSIVE. however I have learned that heatless sock curls works super well for me because I don't want to have to style them everyday either but I do have longer real hair it's just thin lol so it's easier to blend. you could also look into the halos... easier than clips in

Bobs are a huge challenge to blend that top row or your hair. Be careful “over blending” because your own hair will become very thin at ends (because of blending). Ktips will help with this but also more expensive. Must style until hair is long enough to look blended straight. From an extension girly with a former bob

Extension specialist here … you need more grams to blend a little better in my opinion! I’m not sure where you are but I’m in Florida 💕

Fellow Bob girl that just got extensions Friday. I just washed yesterday and I feel way more confident with my hair straight. I think we have to train the hair but I was noticing with it curled it was also “separating” from the extension. Just a few pics to show mine. 2 rows of 18” and we opted not the 3rd row. She didn’t want the added pressure with my thin hair.

You don’t have to curl your hair everyday, with a good dry shampoo you can go 4 days or so

Hi! Stylist of 11 years ago specializes in extensions. You need more extension hair. Having that blunt of a bob to start with, they need to place the top row higher to even it out. You don’t need all new hair, you just need to add to what you have

See this is a reason I don’t think I could do them. With my thick hair and curls…

This is exactly why I’m not ready to do it. Clip ins may just be an easy way to go. I have very wavy sometimes curly hair that I like to straighten, but it’s super unholy and if anybody puts straight hair on me, it’s gonna always look like two different hairs. 😆

I’m getting extensions for the first time ever tomorrow and now I’m scared!! My hair is a shorter length too so i worry about the blending

Try braiding them at bed time - that helps with a natural curl

I have to have some curl or crimp in my hair with extensions. Just braid it at night, that will do the trick

I think they look good. I have one row and it blends really well. I do have very fine hair though. I can curl mine and it will usually stay curled for a few days. It did take me about 4 months to feel like they were fully me but now I will have mine forever.

Bob here and had 22s added. I have 3 rows and then a few strategic tape ins for blending. To be honest I curl it and it stays wavy for days. As long as I wrap it to sleep. Some nights I sleep in heat less curlers, works way better not extensions than it ever did on just my natural hair. Hope this helps! Also as your bin grows out it will blend better week over week

Honestly I think the first girl did a good job blending! She just didn’t order enough hair. I’d go back to the first girl and get one more row!!

You probably need more extensions because you have a bob. You need more to blend.

Lindsay|Disney+Universal Tips :
You need k tips or I tips on the sides! Or small tape ins. So more hair sadly. Or the position she has your rows, is off.

I tried pausing your video when you said “and they looked like this”.. was that to showcase something cuz TRULY I thought they looked incredibly well blended?

Try braiding your hair in two braids at night! The waves will help it blend without heat styling every day. The extensions will start to age a over time too.
