It’s SO common for men to lie about things like the size of the fish & how hard it was to bring in, how tall & how big they are, exaggerating on their resumes etc. Maybe they assume a woman with an amazing story must be exaggerating like they do.

If your going to compare stories firstly the media had eyes on Mick we could all see it going done. And the radio show was not the way your portrayal is very skewed. He questioned how she had all this time to think. And the all had an opinion. It was light hearted banter. To make this about man versus women because it was. Do you remember the jokes about Micks encounter. Nobody stood up and carried on about it. It was good old fashion humour. As was the radio show.

A woman snapping into survival mode and doing ANYTHING possible to save herself when she had the thought of her child growing up without her is the most relatable and believable story I can think of! I would have done the same in a heartbeat to make sure my kids didn’t grow up without their mum.

I’m pretty sure we’ve all heard the phrase, “My life flashed before my eyes.” In life-threatening moments, an extraordinary amount of thought and memory can be compressed into seconds. I believe her daughter would absolutely have been on her mind simultaneously as she fought for her life.

When I was 19 I worked in a local cafe on weekends. I was on closing shift with a male colleague around my age when an aggressive guy came in the unlocked back door and started yelling at us. My colleague pushed past me and ran out the front door. Meanwhile, without even thinking, I'd grabbed a dirty pot out of the sink and chased the man out of the building. My colleague then tried to claim to our boss that he'd chased off the crazy guy 😒
