@jozey71: 🇺🇬 THE STORY OF THE UGANDAN FLAG 🇺🇬 Did you know that Uganda’s flag tells a story about the nation? 👀 The Ugandan flag was adopted on 9 October 1962, the day Uganda gained independence from Britain. It has six horizontal stripes arranged in black, yellow and red. ⚫ Black represents the people of Africa. 🟡 Yellow represents Uganda’s sunshine. 🔴 Red represents the brotherhood and connection among Ugandans. At the centre is the Grey Crowned Crane, Uganda’s national bird. It stands on one leg and symbolizes the peaceful and friendly nature of the Ugandan people. 🐦🇺🇬 From the struggles of the past to the hopes of today, every time the flag flies, it reminds Ugandans of their identity, unity and independence. 🇺🇬 THIS IS UGANDA — THE PEARL OF AFRICA! 🇺🇬
