That awesome. I need to look more into it. But with your regular fire extinguisher you just turn them over and smack them. You will fill all the powder release. Just do that a couple time. The main problem is the corrosive powder corrode out the insides. And leaking out the gas. So by that point it need to be replaced or re worked.

Firefighter here, they are not user friendly in an emergency. Easy solution to fire extinguishers getting clumped up is taking a rubber mallet and tap/hit the bottom of the extinguisher until it sounds hollow. Our fire department used to service fire extinguishers until it got too expensive for us. If you’re curious as to what it takes to service/use them look into NFPA 10.

Ok, first of all the main problem with these is they don't work the way a traditional fire extinguisher works. Everybody knows how to use a regular extinguisher, these need extra training. So you run the risk that in a fire, an untrained person won't know how this works. The second problem is related, the handle and hose are backwards from a typical can so people pick them up backwards. The hose is also very short. It's a cool system and I hope some day it becomes the standard but for now, these aren't suited for public places.

id love to learn more about their operation & potential reliability shortfalls. skeptical that they're an improvement as my cursory googling showed Cal Fire (reputable governmental organization) says they also need to be inspected annually by a certified technician.

My biggest concern is idea of keeping it simple, most of the general public don’t how to use a regular extinguisher, adding a the co cartridge and the knob make it more complicated not convenient

Those are definitely cool, once a year, take your ABC/BC extinguisher and flip it upside-down and smack it on the bottom with a rubber mallet a few times to "refresh" them.

love it. have more then a few safety equipment inventions myself after a few decades in industrial safety and forensic accident investigations. good luck getting the patient and getting it even looked at to get it tested for effectiveness. and it's a real leap to get even proven new equipment marketed.
