AI is already doing advanced level math and formalizing proofs with Lean. There’s a huge movement in the mathematics community to use agents now. If you’ve got an agent it can just execute code to do math. It’s getting wild

I use AI to create recipies for baking when I'm stuck at a certain point. One time I was looking for an egg substitute and amongst other things it recommended applesauce, I asked how the applesauce would effect the other ingredients it said it wouldn't then I asked the ph of applesauce (needed for levening of cakes cookies etc) and it adjusted the recipe because applesauce is slightly acidic. It knows but just needs help thinking through things.

The old AI was great at memorizing, so I bet the answers were out there on chegg or some math forums with that exact problem and wording and found the answer. Ever since 2025 december AI is astonishingly good at reasoning, not to the point of physicists or mathematicians, but its getting there. I thought it would fall on its face with logical reasoning

you give it reference material and a subject that can be determanistically right or wrong and it can check its work it can do just about anything. some times it takes a lot of work to get it there through a program but it can do it.

I work in underground mining on complex equipment. when we run into weird issues I've dumped the maintenance manual into Ai and gave it the issue. every single time its figured out a route to fix the machine

You don't even need enterprise models to do this anymore. as an example: If you have anything resembling a gaming computer. You can load a much smaller local model that can do the same thing. It just takes a little longer to work it out.

Here’s the catch; AI can be upgraded. People cannot. It’s already been used to solve or advance previously unsolved problems, and it’s only going to improve. There is no job, anywhere, that is “safe” from AI.

ai is garbage, outside of very specific use cases. The problem is, ai is trained on everything, the good and bad. The people scraping it have no concerns over the quality of data going in. So with chat bots we have it regurgitate popular propaganda. With images increasing it's scanning other ai content and like a photocopy of a photocopy? it disintegrated. And maths is no different now.
