it's so crazy that the kids menu has an age limit. if someone wants a hot dog and you serve hot dogs, just get them the dang hot dog. the price is less bc the portion is less.

As someone who has had gastric sleeve surgery and physically can’t eat and certainly don’t wanna pay for and waste a huge meal, having an age limit on the kids menu is diabolical!

That’s ridiculous! The kids meals cost less because they’re smaller portions. So if you’re an adult and only want a small portion then you should be able to order it.

Honestly, I don’t agree with the whole age restriction thing. The portion is the portion…it doesn’t suddenly cost more to prepare bc it’s being consumed by an adult.

Having an age restriction is bs, there are ppl who have dietary restrictions, and for many reason don’t want left overs why should they be forced to buy a bigger portion they know they won’t eat?!

I always hated age limits on kids menus. I always ate off the kids menu at my jobs because of smaller portions AND it’s cheaper. But an EXTRA CHARGE?! That’s wild

While the age rule with a charge is a bit crazy, as a restaurant owner I’m just gonna throw out there that maybe not all restaurants price their kids menu for it to make any money? Just a thought. We have a kids menu and it’s priced to make money for us to I don’t care who orders it. 😁

That rule is ridiculous honestly. There is no difference between who is ordering it. The portion size is the portion size either way. No one is scamming because they aren't gaining anything.

My mother is 80 years old, she doesn’t eat a lot, I always order the kids portion for her when I can. Less waste because she won’t eat leftovers.

Sometimes tenders, grilled cheese or hot dogs are only on the kids menu there’s no adult option for them.. what about the adults that would just want tenders and are picky. For them it’s about cost but for some people it’s about kinds of food they’d eat?

Meanwhile I order off the senior menu for my toddler 🙈 the kids menu is not enough food, and the adult menu is just too much, senior size is just right. Haven’t met a server yet that has an issue with this, but I also read the menu and the terms and would gladly pay 3$ extra if they asked me too

I love when restaurants have a “Kids & Small Appetite” section together. Because not everyone wants the big portion of food. But I understand restaurants are privately owned businesses and can set their own menus and rules. And if they don’t allow adults to order off the kids menu - that’s their choice.

As a Norwegian it’s crazy to charge more for a child meal when the meal is small…. Why should I 20y woman have to pay more if I can’t eat so much?

Im actually a fan of restaurants that let anyone order off the kids menu for an upcharge. like I'm not trying to get away with being cheap, sometimes I just want the smaller portions

I'm on the customer's side. Kids portions shouldn't have age restrictions. Some people don't want an adult sized portion or cant eat an adult sized portion due to various reasons. I am a cancer survivor and when I was in the middle of my chemo treatments a kids' sized portion was about all I could manage....if that some days. No way would I have been able to pay for a regular meal. My best friend is a diabetic....portion size for her matters. so yea, def with the customer on this one

Yeah this one's weird. They are smaller portions and some people only want a smaller portion for their meal and ofcourse price comes into play. I'd rather see a family be able to go out for dinner and afford it. I remember when my kids were young and taking them to the rainforest Café, and we did not have the money for it at the time. We were on vacation and trying to budget. We wanted to give the kids the experience. I tried to order off the kids menu and they would not let me, and they had a rule about having to order a meal and not just an appetizer. I was so upset and we ordered obviously because it was an experience. But yeah, I think I'm on the customers side for this one.

I think there should be half portions for ppl who don’t want the big entrees. But I would never blame the server. And I know someone who’s had surgery and can’t eat whole adult portions. But being sneaky isn’t cool.
