Do they not have employment contracts in the US? In most European countries it’s the same notice to fire someone as to resign. If they fire you, they still have to pay you out the resignation period. I had a job once with 3 months notice (not sure what I was thinking) and a guy got fired and he got paid 3 months without having to work💀
