@swordspeed: IRON HEAVEN | Part 1: The Sky Knows His Name She found him broken in an alley. A stranger with technology she barely understands, wounds that look anything but accidental, and no interest in explaining where he came from. She repairs him anyway. By morning, he’s gone. But when their paths cross again, she begins to realize the man she pulled from the rain is something far more powerful than he appeared to be. And somewhere above the city, something is looking for him. IRON HEAVEN: The Sky Knows His Name is Episode 1 of a new original animated series. For this project, I wanted to explore a style heavily inspired by late-80s and early-90s Japanese animation, particularly the atmosphere and visual language of science-fiction OVAs from that era. I focused on hand-drawn cel-inspired visuals, dense industrial environments, analog texture, dramatic lighting, slower character moments, and letting the world breathe between the larger sequences. This is the beginning of a much larger story, and there are clues throughout the film about who this man is, where he came from, and why something in the sky is searching for him. As always, I thoroughly enjoy experimenting with these animated shorts and finding new ways to tell stories with these tools.
