Through Sophie’s eyes, the trip seems like a simple and happy escape filled with swimming, exploring, and spending time together. But as the vacation unfolds, she begins to notice moments of sadness and struggle in her father that she doesn’t fully understand at the time. Years later, Sophie looks back on those memories as an adult, trying to piece together who her father really was and what was happening beneath the surface. The film is a quiet and emotional story about childhood, memory, love, and realizing that we may never fully know the people closest to us.
