I’m an air conditioner installer too. Instead of mounting the spray nozzle in front of the outdoor unit, I install it at the rear, spraying directly onto the coil; this effectively cools the unit and the refrigerant—saving electricity—while the heat dissipation evaporates the sprayed water, so it doesn't become a nuisance to the neighbors.
