come let me enlight u, our local plumbing masters (awon oga wa)who came with the idea of not applying gum into our horizontal waste pipes knows what they were doing, even kudos to them, IN CASE OF A BLOCKAGES PIPES CLOG ,SOME BLOCKAGES DONT SOLVE WITH THE IDEAS OF USING CLEAR ROD, DRAIN AUGER, U WILL ONLY END UP STRESSED URSELF, BUT THE ONLY SOLUTION IS TO REMOVE OR DISCONNECT THE PIPES ONE AFTER THE OTHER, SO BACK TO UR QUESTION, SUPPOSING WE HAVE GUM ALL THE PIPES , U CAN NO LONGER REMOVE THE PIPE FROM THE SOCKET THE ONLY ALTERNATE U HAVE IS TO CUT WITH SAW BLADE. SO IN THIS CASE JUST KNOW THAT AS U ARE CUTTING THE PIPE THE WASTE WILL SPLASH UR FACE BECAUSE OF THE FORCE INSIDE. NOTE AM TALKING ABOUT A HORIZON PIPES NOT VERTICAL, VERTICAL PIPES MUST GUMMED TO AVOID OPEN LEAKS.

it's not necessary you apply gum. if you have a good slope, you won't have any leakages and for the pipe to fittings, that is why rubber is provided, the main function of the rubber is to seal/prevent leakages, so using of gum is like wasting of material.

Whether you use gum or you don’t, we’re all aiming for the same thing a good and quality job.You don’t have to use gum or impose it on others. Most of our ogas in plumbing back then didn’t use gum, and I don’t think that means their work was spoiled or inferior, At the end of the day, let everyone use the method they believe gives the best result.Ire ooo 🤝

Gum good in some point 😅but in doing maintenance good Is not good 👍 so that can be able to remove the pipe instead of cutting it or spoil the pipe 😌if socket and pipe no tight well u can apply gum

senior man this issue cannot occur if you have a good slope it can never leak because the waste water can never go back and more also if you used a good quality pipe the choler side will fame together very well
