@sydneymorningherald: Near the flood-destroyed Nepalese town that’s the last known location of an Australian family on a Hindu pilgrimage, South-East Asia correspondent Zach Hope finds communities struggling to understand the devastation. #nepal #nepalflood #worldnews
One country makes the mistake, but the whole world has to suffer the consequences.
Major powers around the world are developing and testing powerful nuclear weapons and other advanced weapons, including underground tests. Countries such as China, the United States, Israel, and others continue to carry out various weapons tests. These activities may have consequences for the environment and the Earth’s natural systems, including the mountains and glaciers of our country.
While developed nations pursue more and more powerful weapons, countries like Nepal may end up bearing the consequences. The melting and breaking of glaciers and the disasters we are witnessing today should make us seriously question the impact of human activities on nature.
If we do not take these issues seriously and think deeply about their long-term consequences, we may have to face even greater suffering in the days ahead.
That is why we must stop taking nature for granted. Let us respect nature, protect our environment, and think seriously about the consequences of our actions before it is too late.
