@parrot.pal: 1 in 4 of our 55+ users now takes a GLP-1. So we read their food diaries. I kept seeing posts saying GLP-1 users eat completely different foods now. Not much data behind any of it. We run two nutrition apps, ParrotPal and Turtle Method. 25 million food logs from over a million users. So I dug in. What I found surprised me. 1. Their top 20 foods are 90% identical to matched non-users. Same butter, banana, chicken breast, blueberries, rice, eggs. The only two foods unique to the GLP-1 list? Bacon and french fries. Only on the non-user list: honey and peanut butter. 2. They eat less of everything. Just under 1,500 logged calories a day off the medication, dropping every month on it, down to just under 1,200 after a year. Any given food is 18% less likely to show up in the diary. Smaller appetite, same menu. 3. Except sweets. Chocolate, cake and biscuits are 31% less likely to appear, way beyond the 18% appetite effect. Fast food? Only 9% less. The sweet tooth goes. The savoury meal doesn't. 4. And no, they're not just better at logging. We checked every diary against that person's own scale over 60 and 90 days. The people losing the most weight log near bang on. The ones losing nothing have the biggest gap. Being on the medication doesn't change that at all. More coming on this cohort. It's growing faster than any other group in our data. Logged food, self-reported medication, matched on age and sex, aggregated and anonymised. Not medical advice. #glp1 #ozempic #mounjaro #fooddiary #nutrition
