read caption for more context: On Sunday after 6km I was starting to get slight discomfort in my right knee but it just came and went. However towards the end was properly uncomfortable and I had zero pop in my right leg. Dropped luke a message and after a once over gave me a plan for the week. It’s a very very common injury, the baitest one in the book. It probs came about after a sporadic period during christmas, which we all have. Marry that with a lack of strength training in the winter months and bingo, we’ve got a beautifully inflamed IT band… Was a bit gutted that yesterday’s outdoor run wasn’t pain free tbh, convinced myself I’d done everything that was needed to get over this quickly but I’ve got to slowly build back to full strength. Couple easy runs to start the plan this week and we’ll see where we’re at after that. Do your strength work, thank god this happened now and not mid block 🙏🏼 Barca half is 35 days away, my B race for london. I’ve done absolutely no concentrated speed work yet have been banging the easy runs, so hopefully fitness has been building in the background. New target might need setting but we’ll see. New week pending 👍🏼 will be spamming legs for the forceable 🤝 lesson learnt, and learnt it the hard way 🙃 PLEASE STRENGTHEN YOUR LEGS PEOPLE #Running
