Don't tell gamers to trust a director that openly stated that this game doesn't use the existing lore and characters when that is what we have been wanting. I'm sure it will be a great zombie-ish movie but a zombie movie doesn't make it Resident Evil.

I think this is the first time a movie looked like it's actually Resident Evil. So many references and nods to the game in just the trailer I saw. And I'm a lifelong player of the games. I'm not mad that's it a new character and story, it feels like it's from that world to me 100% and I love the idea of going through it with a character who's not an overt badass. People just like being mad now

Skilled director but this didnt look like Resident Evil at all. Looks like an interesting horror movie but again, basing it during RE2 then back tracking that it isn't actually during RE2 or in any RE timeline at all and also not including anything or anyone from the games other than a couple of set pieces just makes it really uninteresting and obviously just using the IP for the budget and forced hype

This is a bought review. I was also there and here are my thoughts. Visually you will see stuff from the game. Story wise it’s not Resident Evil. It looks like a good movie, but it’s not resident evil. This is like his own Fanfic

youre a cinema commentator telling gamers that Zach knows what he's doing without stating what games you play or even having a reference video of you talking about said games? literally clicking on your profile takes us directly to their site. of course you have positive things to say about it, and thats fine, but I think all gamers are sick of people who dont play the games we love telling us its gonna be good. we have a history of RE movies just like this yall told us would be good that later turned out to be garbage. hard pass

No he doesnt. He has proven that time and again in his interviews to drum up hype. He made another monster movie and Constantine slapped RE on the title.

In order to make a good game to film adaptation you need to distance yourself as much as possible from the material but also pay homage to it. Thats why the best adaptations happen from those who do their own thing and not going copy paste

Been a fan of RE since the early 2000s. I’m so hyped for this movie. Not interested in a beat for beat story of the original games. We got that with welcome to raccoon city. Now a npc story sounds like a fresh take!

he doesn't though. Just because he shows items from the game and has gameplay mechanics integrated doesnt mean he gets resident evil. if he did...we wouldn't be seeing a dog that literally only exists in Resident Evil 4
