Reposting this reel from last year as I know it surprised a lot of people and is a good one so here it is if you didn’t see it before!! 👇 A great example that shows we can’t really assume anything about a food product based simply on the front of the packaging!! I think a lot of people would be very surprised to see that the very premium looking “specially selected” Aldi chunky cod fish fingers contain a lower % of fish and MORE additives than the standard looking cod fish fingers in Aldi! So I definitely would not be paying the premium for the specially selected fish fingers when the standard ones are cheaper and yet contain more fish and less additives!! But I really would never expect this if I was to judge the products based on the front of the packaging! Also ideally we make homemade fish fingers, I love to make them when I can and think they do taste a lot better but I’m also a busy mum and a realist… so I know that sometimes there just isn’t enough time to make something like this from scratch, and some kids will refuse the homemade ones over the shop bought ones anyway!! the joy of feeding kids hey 🤪 So in these cases supermarket fish fingers can be really handy and I just wanted to show a good example of why we shouldn’t assume a product is better than another based on the look of the packaging!! The only way we truly know what’s in the food we’re buying is to look at the back and read the ingredients lists. Did this surprise you about Aldi fish fingers? I’d love to know your thoughts in the comments ♥️ #sophiesswaps #cleverswaps #foodlabels #readlabels
