as a gold star lesbian, i do wish we kinda had a different name for it because ‘gold ★’ implies we deserve some sort of reward or sticker or smth silly for not sleeping with a man, when in reality everyone’s journey to coming to terms with lesbianism is different— also basing this label on whether or not someone has been with a man feels kinda male centered as the deciding factor is.. a man. i agree that the concept should be celebrated but i wish it didn’t seem to put folks down in the process :(
