@mahmoud_elneshawy: Indeed, the word سعادة existed in the Arabic lexicon, but you will never find Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) advising people to search for happiness or recommending strategies to help them maintain happiness as a permanent state feeling. Muslims knew very well the essence and meaning of بهجة، فرح، سرور, but السعادة was exclusively discussed as a divine gift from Allah. “How to be happy?” This question, in its essence, implies that happiness could be a state feeling to reach and sustain which is against the biochemical nature of our brains❌. The question inherently originates from Western culture, which, unfortunately, has made its way into our Arab world. A lot of people are searching for happiness, which is against how the brain is designed. We should rather search for emotional regulation and balance.
