I would drop out too if she's not on the billing bc $$$. The gimmick/attraction was "2 stars from Wicked the movie" + "come see one of best vocalists in the world". The play hasnt been put on in decades for a reason- no significant public interest in it to sell tickets. Regardless of his "loyalty" to Arianna, it would be a waste of his time at this pt in his career to continue the project without her. It takes a lot of time and effort to get a play ready just for it to have lower than previously expected ticket sales. Also it'd be a SERIOUS blow to his continued success if he had to factor in such a long time away from hollywood + low ticket sales. Filmmakers who atm would jump to cast him in blockbusters, might not have faith in his star power enough to cast him so easily if he gets saddled with this project directly after Wicked

I need y’all to understand that actors are a product. A product that generates that much money needs to be insured. She already struggled to get covered for the tour, paying 3X the premium. She just can’t get coverage because they don’t think she would make it through. It’s a business y’all. They don’t want the loss.

why does everyone just automatically assume the worst omfg i’m so sick of the internet. clearly it’s something they wanted to do together because they’re close friends, he probably just decided not to do it because he didn’t want to continue to do something they were originally supposed to do the two of them to show he supports her decision to step back and take a break. both of them are insanely talented actors that have been on broadway/stage before and i highly doubt she was fired considering the excitement just the announcement gathered.
