Botched Resignation :
i as working construction, she was in school. we met, hung out a few days, and on the third night she actually said, "i choose you." we were never married in the traditional sense. no god, no witness, no ring, just a gem buried in a place where no one will ever find it, and a promise. we've been together for almost thirty years. she is an intelligent, well-educated, resourceful, talented, and confident woman. she has one or two undergraduate degrees and a masters. she is a community volunteer, board chair and president of one organization, sitting board member with another, a former mayoral appointee, and career professional. i like smart people. oh and yeah, she's a looker too. so go ahead and hate me. lol not long ago she asked, "why do you have to be so endearing? why can't i just hate you, like everybody else?" i laughed. smiling, she kissed me good morning and poured our coffee. she's funny too. as her favorite, i can not always be there. fortunately, my wife is smart. intelligent women, more often than not, have many trusted admirers, champions, and friends, not to mention resources. i appreciate that. trust; one woman is many women, and a discerning woman knows the difference between a man seeking friendship and one seeking validation. a man of character and maturity can appreciate the kaleidoscopic wonder that is a woman, and it ain't all good cause it ain't supposed to be. boys, all women choose their men, all of them and women of exceptional discernment, more often than not, choose wisely. that's the way it is and the way it has always been. thing is this, the right person will need you for nothing, absolutely nothing, except for how you make them feel. grow up fellas
