Yes I remember back in the 80’s . . . Electricity hadn’t been invented yet. The covered wagons we stored our wares in barely had enough room to house our irons. Back then, Ma would heat our suppers, after a long day of field work, in the hearth over the fire and we’d fiddle and dance until it was time to sleep in our one bed. Luckily, we had an iron like the one you showed here, which we’d use to press our bonnets before church when they got wrinkled.
