Japanese trains are so punctual that based on that clock, you might've gotten on the wrong train. being from the US, I've made that mistake, too. the 10:27 shinkansen wouldn't show up until like 10:24 & departs right at 10:27

Yeah, that’s why people in Japan are so strict about time. Even being a minute late can affect your credibility.😂😂😂

I’ve been to japan before I went to Germany. When I was in Germany, I expect the punctuality is similar to JR if not better as they known to be strict. Oh boy, I didn’t expect that I will miss 2 of my connecting trains to Netherlands because of the 30-60 mins delay

I can't read kanji, but I could tell whether it was my bus or train just by the time. If it arrived right on the exact minute, it was mine; if it was a minute early or a minute late, I knew it wasn't.

Haha, last train I took in Germany was so delayed that it wasn’t able to run at high speed which delayed us even more and then we had to come to a full stop for 15 minutes because a horse was on the tracks then the train dropped us off in Utrecht instead of Amsterdam so they could try and make some time up. 😂

I've only ridden about 20 trains in Germany, but I thought they were very good. Most were on time and the worst was only about an hour late. Some passenger trains in Canada have an expected departure/arrival variance measured in *days*.
